WIN Reality FAQ: Setup, Compatibility & Subscription Answers
Getting started
What is WIN Reality?
WIN Reality is a VR baseball and softball training platform that gives hitters game-speed reps at home. It combines two products:
- TrainVR — Face 600+ real pitchers in virtual reality on your Meta Quest headset. Train pitch recognition, timing, and plate discipline against actual pitch data.
- SwingAI — An AI-powered mobile app that analyzes your swing from video and delivers instant coaching feedback. No headset required.
Players using WIN Reality develop up to 7x faster than traditional training methods, with a 9% increase in plate discipline.
What do I need to get started?
It depends on which product you choose:
- TrainVR: A Meta Quest 2 or Quest 3 headset, the WIN Reality app (free download from the Meta Quest Store), a subscription plan, and enough space to swing safely.
- SwingAI: Just your smartphone. Download the app, record your swing, and get AI-powered feedback instantly.
- Ultimate Hitter Pack: Includes both TrainVR and SwingAI plus a bat attachment and optional headset bundle. Everything you need in one box.
Which VR headset works with WIN Reality?
WIN Reality runs on the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest 3S. Both headsets are fully supported and give you access to the same training content and drills.
How much space do I need?
You need enough room to take a full swing safely. Set up your Meta Quest guardian boundary before each session so the headset warns you if you step outside your safe zone.
How do I set up WIN Reality?
Setup is straightforward:
- Download the WIN Reality app from the Meta Quest Store (it’s free to download).
- Create your account and choose a subscription plan.
- Set your guardian boundary in an open area.
- Attach the bat attachment to your controller (if using one) and start training.
The app walks you through calibration and your first session.
Is WIN Reality right for my age and skill level?
Yes. WIN Reality is built for hitters at every level: youth, travel ball, high school, college, and pro. Training scales with age-appropriate settings, so a 9-year-old and a college hitter each get reps that match their game.
Does VR training actually improve hitting?
Yes. Hitters see a 9% increase in plate discipline and develop up to 7x faster than traditional training, and teams have reported a 23% increase in winning percentage. The biggest gains come in pitch recognition and timing. See real results on our reviews page.
Is WIN Reality worth it?
WIN Reality is built for hitters serious about pitch recognition, timing, and plate discipline. It is used by pros, colleges, and travel ball organizations to get more game-speed reps without a field or a cage. Read what players and parents say on our reviews page.
Will WIN create bad swing habits?
No, not when you train the full system. TrainVR sharpens your eyes, timing, and decisions at game speed. SwingAI adds mechanics feedback so you groove a good swing. Use them together to build the right habits.
What does WIN Reality measure, and does it track contact?
WIN Reality tracks stats like contact rate, bat speed, reaction time, swing timing, swing decision, and hard-hit rate. TrainVR focuses on timing and pitch recognition rather than physical ball contact, so you train the skills that decide at-bats.
SwingAI
What is SwingAI?
SwingAI is WIN Reality’s AI-powered mobile swing analysis app. Record your swing on your phone, and SwingAI breaks it down with instant coaching feedback scoring your mechanics and showing you exactly what to work on. No VR headset needed.
Do I need a VR headset to use SwingAI?
No. SwingAI runs entirely on your smartphone. Record a swing, get feedback. It’s designed to work at the cage, on the field, or in your backyard.
How do I record a swing for SwingAI?
Open the SwingAI app, set your phone at the recommended angle (the app guides you), and record your swing. The AI analyzes the video and delivers instant coaching feedback.
What do the SwingAI Scores mean?
SwingAI scores rate key areas of your swing mechanics on a clear scale. Each score pinpoints what’s working and what needs adjustment, so you know exactly where to focus your next round of reps.
What is the 3D model in SwingAI?
Every SwingAI report includes an interactive 3D model of your swing, helping you visualize your movements from multiple angles. The model highlights how each part of your swing compares to optimal ranges for that dimension—making it easy to spot where you’re in sync and where small adjustments can lead to big results.
How are drills selected for me?
Drills in SwingAI are automatically selected based on your lowest-scoring swing dimensions—and give you a training plan in the areas where your swing deviates most from proven movement patterns used by elite hitters.
The AI analyzes your swing video, identifies the key metrics that need improvement, and recommends drills that target those specific areas.
Each drill includes:
- A clear focus on the dimension it’s designed to improve (e.g., pelvis load, stride length)
- A coaching explanation to help you understand why the drill matters
- A feel cue or swing adjustment to guide your practice
This approach ensures that every drill you do is personalized and purposeful—helping you make real improvements without guesswork.
Can I see how my swing is improving?
Yes! SwingAI tracks your scores over time so you can monitor how your swing evolves across each of the 12 dimensions. Each time you upload a swing, your latest report is saved in the app, allowing you to compare past and present scores, spot trends, and measure your progress.
Is SwingAI for both baseball and softball swings?
Yes. SwingAI analyzes swings for both baseball and softball players. The AI adapts its feedback to the mechanics of each sport.
How does SwingAI work with TrainVR?
They cover different sides of development. TrainVR trains your eyes and timing against live-speed pitching in VR. SwingAI analyzes your physical swing mechanics on video. Together, they give you a complete picture: the mental and mechanical sides of hitting in one system.
TrainVR
How does TrainVR work?
TrainVR puts you in the batter’s box against 600+ real pitchers using actual pitch data like speeds, spin rates, release points. You see pitches at game speed in VR, train your pitch recognition, and build plate discipline. Every session tracks your performance so you can measure progress over time.
What age is TrainVR right for?
TrainVR works for players of all ages and competitive levels. The platform scales with the player. Youth, travel ball, high school, college, and pro athletes all train on the same system with age-appropriate settings.
Is TrainVR unlimited?
Yes. Your subscription gives you unlimited access to all TrainVR drills, pitchers, and training modes. Train as often as you want.
What will my coach think about me using TrainVR?
WIN Reality is used and recommended by coaches, teams, and academies at all levels. Many coaches we work with report that players who use TrainVR progress faster and increase their batting average faster than those who do not. If you’re serious about becoming a better hitter, WIN offers 1-on-1 coaching with former pro and college players.
Can I train specific skills or weaknesses?
Yes. TrainVR lets you target specific areas:
- Pitch recognition drills (fastball vs. offspeed identification)
- Timing and swing decision training
- Plate discipline — learn to lay off bad pitches
- Situational hitting scenarios
Choose your pitchers and get to work.
Does TrainVR offer baseball and softball?
Yes. TrainVR includes both baseball and softball pitching. Softball players train against real softball pitchers with accurate speeds, spins, and release points.
How often should I use TrainVR?
Consistent daily sessions build real results. Players improve up to 7x faster than with traditional training alone. Treat it like any other part of your training plan.
Can multiple players share one subscription?
Each subscription is for one player. For multiple players in the household, check winreality.com/choose-your-plan for available options.
Equipment and setup
Do I need the Bat Attachment?
The bat attachment is optional but recommended. It clips onto your Meta Quest controller so you can swing with a more natural bat feel in VR. Most serious hitters prefer it for realistic training reps.
What is the WIN short bat?
The WIN short bat is a compact training bat designed for VR use. It gives you a realistic weight and grip without needing a full-length bat in your training space. Visit winreality.com/shortbat for details.
Will Bat Attachment work with any bat?
The bat attachment is designed to work with the Meta Quest controllers. It connects to your controller, not directly to a bat. You can use it on its own or pair it with the WIN short bat for added weight and feel.
How long will equipment take to arrive?
Shipping times vary. Check the WIN Reality store for current estimates and availability.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
We do! Select “Expedited Shipping” during the shipping step at checkout for 2-business-day shipping.
What is the difference between the Quest 2 and the Quest 3 Bat Attachment?
The Quest 2 and Quest 3 use different controllers, so each version of the bat attachment is designed to fit its specific controller. Make sure you order the attachment that matches your headset.
How do I cast my session to a TV or phone?
You can cast your Meta Quest display to a phone or TV so coaches and parents can watch the session in real time. Open the casting option in your Meta Quest menu, select your device, and the feed streams wirelessly. It’s a great way for coaches to give live feedback or for parents to see training in action.
Where can I buy the bat attachment or short bat?
Both are available through the WIN Reality store at winreality.com. See the short bat page for details. Order the attachment that matches your headset (Quest 2 or Quest 3/3S).
